Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback client requirements

I am using AudioVideoPlayback to play audio files. This works fine on my
development machine but I can't get it to work on a machine where the SDK is
not installed. The client machine has Windows Media Player, the April 07
DirectX Redistributable package, and the managed DLLs (AudioVideoPlayback,
Direct3D, DirectX) in the directory of the exe.

Does anyone know the secret sauce to get this working on a machine without
the SDK?
